According to Education Minister Susil Premajayantha, the General Certificate of Ordinary Level results for the years 2023–2024 should be available in two to three weeks.
He went on to say that all the work needed to make the results public is now being completed.

According to General Amit Jayasundara, the Examination Commissioner, the results of the General Certificate of Ordinary Level examination will be announced by September 2024.
About 35,000 examiners will be needed for the answer sheet review procedure following the conclusion of the general examination, according to the Commissioner General of Examinations’ additional statement.
On May 6, 2024, the General Certificate of Ordinary Level (G.C.E (O/L)) test began.
